Troops asked to intensify patrol on LoC, IB after Pak pledges support to Kashmiris | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 7: Following fresh incidents of ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops coupled with raking up the 'Kashmir issue' by ruling party leaders in Pakistan, the troops manning the Line of Control (LoC) and the BSF deployed along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir have been asked to further intensify their anti-ingress mechanism so that the mischief from Pak Army and other agencies viz. pushing militants into Jammu and Kashmir. Reports from across the border have revealed that groups of militants, belonging to Lashkar-i-Toiba (LeT) and Jash-e-Mohammed (JeM) have been brought on the launch pads situated in close vicinity of the LoC and IB and are now awaiting a chance to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir. "Pakistani agencies seem to be upset over the marked drop in the level of militancy-related violence in Jammu and Kashmir after scores of militants, including some so called field commanders of LeT, JeM and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were neutralized during anti insurgency operation launched by the security forces, intelligence sources said. According to these reports, the mood of separatists in the Kashmir is upbeat after the establishment in Islamabad reiterated its commitment to provide moral, diplomatic and political support to the people in Kashmir who were engaged in struggle for securing 'right of self-determination'. But what has peeved New Delhi is the way Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has voiced his reactionary views while supporting liberation of Kashmir. Recently Nawaz Sharif has described Kashmir as his country's "jugular vein" and pledged to continue political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people's struggle for the right to self determination. Sharif made these remarks at the joint session of Kashmir Council in Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), on the occasion of Kashmir Day when the Pakistan holds series of events, including rallies by religious and political bodies to express its solidarity with 'Kashmiri People especially those engaged in struggle for securing 'right of self-determination'. In the context of Islamabad's bid to rake up the Kashmir security forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir and on the border with Pakistan have been suggested to intensify their round the clock patrolling on the LoC and on the IB to foil each bid from across the border to infiltrate into this side. Troops have also been told that once the level of ingress touch zero it could guarantee peace and political stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
