| JKTF protests against order of masters' adjustments | | | | JAMMU, Feb 25: To express anguish against the order issued by Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) to adjust the surplus masters, the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) today staged a massive protest in front of the office of the DSEJ. Led by State Chairman JKTF Abdul Qayoom Wani and State General Secretary JKTF Ganesh Khajuria, hundreds of aggrieved masters of District Jammu participated in the demonstration. MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta also addressed the gathering and assured full support to the protesting masters and termed the adjustment orders were made in haste and hoped the issue will be resolved within days. While addressing the gathering Abdul Qayoom Wani strongly warned the education authorities to desist from suppressing the legitimate voice of the teaching community who are fighting for their rights.He appealed the Chief Secretary and Secretary Education to intervene personally and resolve the issue in favour of the masters. Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh Khajuria strongly condemned the attitude of the DSEJ who had deployed a strong contingent of police force to crush the democratic rights of the teaching community which had planned a chain hunger strike from today in DSEJ office against the violation of all the transfer norms, adopting pick and choose policy and favoritism in the adjustment of masters. |
