Class-IV appointments in Education Deptt made in violation of norms: SVC | | | Jammu, Feb 25: State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today convened a meeting under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Khoda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) discussed various complaints/enquires pending disposal in Education Department and it was observed Class-IV appointments in Education Department were made in violation of norms that too without obtaining sanction/approval from the competent authority. The meeting was attended by R K Jerath, Vigilance Commissioner, Gous-ul-Nisa, Vigilance Commissioner, S Owais, Director Vigilance Organization, IGP Vigilance Organization, Addl Secretary to Govt. Education Department (on behalf of Secretary), Secretary/Addl. Secretary SVC, JDP Vigilance Organization and other officers of the Commission, Vigilance Organization and School Education Department.SVC Spokesperson said that during the meeting various other issues pertaining to the Education Department came under discussion which includes the complaints regarding Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in which ReT Teachers have been appointed on fake PRCs and Mid Day Meal scheme which is either non-existent or in deplorable condition in most of the schools. "The Education Department was directed to device a mechanism so that corrective measures are put in place, the spokesperson said. Meanwhile the Addl. Secretary to Govt Education Department was also directed to dispose off and take action on the complaints regarding appointments/promotions on the basis of fake Degrees after due verifications. Apart from this the education department was also directed to look into the irregularities made while awarding scholarships to deserving candidates should go directly in their bank accounts. It was also directed that a specialized cell be created in the Directorates for proper follow-up of the court cases. Meanwhile the Vigilance Organization was also directed to produce status reports of the cases only after the direction from the Courts. Spokesperson said, "The Commission also gave 45 days period for disposal off all pending complaints/enquiries including RDAs." The Chief Vigilance Commissioner also stressed that clean governance can be achieved only with the joint efforts of the SVC, Vigilance Organization and the department concerned. "It was elaborated by Secretary SVC that out of 1174 complaints/enquires 151 are pending with administrative Department, 407 with Director School Education Jammu, 358 with Director School Education Kashmir, 135 with Police Department and 123 with other Departments, he added. |
