JKAACL organises music programme

Jammu, Feb 25 : Celebrating Birth Centenary of Prof. Ram Nath Shastri, J&K Academy of Art of Culture and Languages today organized a music programme in Shakti Shiksha Kendra Higher Secondary School Marh.
According to press release, Prof. Rita Jitendra, prominent artist, writer, social activist and former Secretary of the Academy presided and Lal Chand Gandotra Principal of the school was the Chief Guest. Puran Chand Sharma President Dogri Sahitya Saba Marh was the Guest of Honour.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was also in the presidium. Delivering her presidential address, Prof. Reeta Jitendra threw light on the life and works of Prof. Ram Nath Shastri and also shared her experiences with Prof. Shastri in her life. She inspired the children to inculculate a habit of reading and writing their mother tongue. She further said that the languages other than mother tongue are also essential but mother tongue is mandatory.
Lal Chand Gandhotra principal of the school also spoke on the occasion who appreciated the efforts of the Academy in holding such a beautiful programme in their school especially for the students. He said that such activities play a vital role in pruning the overall personality of the child. He expressed hope that Academy will organize such programmes in future also.
Earlier Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy while delivering his welcome address said that J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages is organising programmes in villages and remote areas of the state to provide platform for the promotion of Art, Culture and Languages.
Those who participated in the programme were Sonali Dogra, Indu Bala, Zulekha Afrid, Vishal Gupta and Shiv Sharma. The Musicians were Darbari Lal (Dolk), Rohit Kumar (Octopad), Sanjay Pashi (Guitar) and Rakesh Anand (Flute).
The programme was composed by Brij Mohan. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri where as the vote of thanks was presented by Puran Chander Sharma president Dogri Sahitya Sabha Marh.
