Jammu, Feb 25 : The VC of the Central University of Jammu, Prof. Devanand interacted with prominent citizens Rayha Suchaini, the area where the University campus is coming up, and sought suggestions on community development programmes of the University.
According to official handout, the prominent citizens included General Govardhan Singh Jamwal (Retd.) who belongs to Suchaini, Khajoor Singh, Sarpanch, and social workers.
The senior officers of the University were, Jit Singh, Registrar, Dr. PS Pathania, Senior Consultant, Prof. Deepak Raj Gupta, Academic Administrator, Prof. NR Sharma, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. H.S. Sehgal, Dean, School of Life Sciences and Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, Prof. Sham Singh, HK Prasher, OSD Finance, and RP Gupta, Executive Engineer.
At the outset, VC welcomed the guests and told about the activities of the University especially the community development programmes, and informed that the University is about to set up a CUJ Outreach Centre, which will have a Library and Computer Centre for the use of the students of the area. The Centre will remain open for 12 hours in a day, said VC.
He also informed that the Department of Social Work will undertake programmes to help uplifting living standards of the local community. The VC also narrated various other academic and administrative programmes of the University. |
