srinagar, Feb 25: Not finding it easy to swallow coalition of People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir, senior congress leaders are using all means to create wedges in PDP-BJP alliance by giving vents in rash tones.
Senior congress leader Digvijay Singh while giving vent on the coming together of PDP and BJP to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir says that principles had been thrown in the dust bin for politics of convenience.
A day after former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and senior congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad used the same tone for PDP-BJP alliance, Digvijay through a Tweet today said that "PDP BJP alliance to form Government in J and K Politics of Convenience! Principles thrown in the dust bin! Would Mohan Bhagwat say something?"
Pertinently statements of congress leaders started flourishing minutes after The BJP and the PDP yesterday announced to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir to work for betterment of peace and over all development of the state through common minimum programme.
Digvijay is not alone in critiquing PDP for joining hands with BJP as Former chief Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday while accusing PDP of joining hand with "communal forces" for the post of chief minister, said that "It is also an established fact that People in Kashmir voted for PDP because it claimed that it could stop communal BJP. But PDP joined BJP against the secular credentials of the state, in the coming years; PDP would be responsible for whatever happens in Kashmir." Azad claimed that there was no ideological tussle over Article 370 and AFSPA from PDP with BJP because according to him real bone of contention was power and chair of Chief Minister and added that "so-called tussle between BJP and PDP was not about Article 370 or AFSPA but the fact is that PDP is power hungry and was fighting for CM's chair and other important cabinet portfolios." "By the statements which PDP issued in media, they were trying to give an impression to the people that they are fighting with BJP over Article 370 and AFSPA which in reality was farce and gross lie," Azad added. He also said that this BJP is not of Vajpayee or Advani's BJP but it is BJP of Amit Shah who allegedly is most communal figure in India and added that it is the Amit Shah who is the most communal figure in the country and is responsible for spreading hatred in India.
Congress and National conference had earlier offered unconditional support to PDP to form government with them; however offer was rejected by PDP citing many reasons of not coming in terms with both the parties and almost after two months PDP and BJP yesterday formally announced to form coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir is presently under Governor rule as last year assembly elections threw a hung assembly in which PDP emerged as the single-largest party with 28 seats, BJP won 25 seats, National Conference and Congress winning 15 and 12 seats respectively.
