Katra, Feb 25: On the instructions of N.N. Vohra, Governor, who is Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the Members of the Shrine Board, visited upcoming Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence at Kakryal, and reviewed on-the-spot the to-date status of construction of various residential complexes and all other requisite components for the operationalization of this Multi-Specialty Hospital. It is pertinent to mention that the Shrine Board has last year executed a Concession Agreement with Narayana Hrudayalaya Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, for the operation of this 230-bedded Multi-Specialty Hospital, which is planned to be commissioned by end October, 2015. The team comprised Dr. S. S. Bloeria, Dr. Ashok Bhan, Shiv Kumar Sharma, H. L. Maini, Justice (Retd) Permod Kohli and Maj. Gen. (Retd) Shiv Kumar Sharma, all Board Members, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. M. K. Kumar and B. Mohandaas, Additional Chief Executive Officers and other concerned officers and engineers of the Shrine Board. Prof. Sudhir K. Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, also accompanied the Board Members during the visit. The Members of the Shrine Board took a round of the main Hospital building and the under-construction residential complex comprising nine buildings adjacent to it. These buildings include accommodation facilities for doctors, para-medical staff, nurses and an inn for attendants of patients. All these multi-storey buildings are at the advanced stages of completion and the CEO informed the Board Members that these would be completed by ending June this year. He also informed the Board Members about the various facilities being put in place in each of these buildings. The Board Members also inspected the site and layout plan for construction of a Shopping Complex meant to house shops, multi-purpose halls, offices and facilities like banking, ATM, Post Office etc. The Board Members also discussed with the CEO and the concerned engineers and the architects the modalities for taking up work on the construction of another block of Nurses Hostel and discussed the requirements towards setting up of a Nursing College and a Medical College after this Hospital becomes operational. They were also informed about the envisaged schedule for positioning of various components of the Hospital, including diagnostic facilities, procurement of medical equipment, undertaking fire safety measures, hospital waste management, water and power supply, provision of STP, power backup system, etc. Among those who were also present on the occasion included Dr. Vinod Gupta, Director Medical Services, SMVDSB, Subhash Gupta, Superintending Engineer, Rajinder Singh, Officer on Special Duty (Revenue), and Rajan Gupta, Executive Engineer of the Shrine Board. |
