19 year old murder accused thought, his 65 year old victim was a 'witch' 3/30/2015 12:21:03 AM Jammu, Mar 29: The statement of 19 year old, accused of murdering a 65 year old in Udhampur has once again brought to the fore the deep roots of witch craft that still exist in our society. The 19 year old killed 65 year old Ramta Begum in Udhampur District, that the deceased women was a witch and was responsible for the miseries of his sister who was under the influence of black magic performed on her by the deceased women. While talking to Early Times, SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary said that the accused Tousef Ahmed son of Head Constable Farooq Ahmed in his initial statement told the investigating officer that the deceased women was a witch who performed black magic on his sister as a result of which she had to face various miseries. SSP Chowdhary said that even though 19 year old accused narrated black magic theory which impelled him to commit the murder, he added that police is probing the case though different angles. As per the case, 65-year-old woman identified as Ramta Begum, wife of Mohammad Guffar resident of Kishtwar presently at Udhampur was murdered in Chopra Shop locality falling under the jurisdiction of Rembal police station of Udhampur after accuse allegedly sprinkled acid on her and then murdered the victim with a sharp edged weapon (toka) inflicting critical injuries to her resulting into her death.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
