Natrang stages Hindi play 'Tairaaq' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: Natrang staged a new Hindi play 'Tairaaq'. Originally written in Dogri by eminent Dogri litterateur Chhattarpal and translated in Hindi by the playwright himself, was efficiently directed by Neeraj Kant. On the occasion, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that Natrang has pledged to promote the plays written by local writers in its weekly theatre series and majority of local plays will feature in the coming weeks. Highly contemporary and a dig on the nexus of corruption, this play depicts the unfortunate realities of the political system we live in. Irrespective of all the deterrence in our system against corruption, we are still not able to deal with this evil in the society. The play shows the situation in our society and how the people in power misuse the authority and opportunities provided by the government for their personal gains. There is a popular saying that ill earned is ill spent and more the corrupt people widen the sphere of their illegal activities more they are required to look for the avenues of ill earnings. The play opens in the office of a works department where a junior engineer is shown struggling to find a big avenue of extra earning. His senior who also happens to be his relative while enquiring about his worries is revealed that need of extra buck is necessitated to maintain an illicit relation. Senior is also lured to maintain that status and both rope in a local politician to accomplish a common agenda. The senior conceptualizes the game plan. |
