| Illegal toll collection at Ban Talab from exempted category people: BSP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: Bahujan Samaj Party in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its State General Secretary Rakesh Wazir strongly condemned the illegal money collection by the Toll Post people at Ban Talab even from the people who come under exempted category including local and other categories prescribed by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways Govt. of India.
Wazir said that either the people deployed at Toll Post Ban Talab do not know the guidelines and rules of the concerned Ministry or they are making mockery of it and fetching money from the people on the basis of muscle power to which the state government is just acting as mute spectator and rather facilitating them by providing them security.
He said that rules are very clear that people residing or using 20 KM toll road be treated as locals and monthly pass be issued to them irrespective of district etc. but on contrary to that Reasi district and other areas which starts merely 6 KM from toll post and merely by seeing Reasi district number plates on the cars they are being charged exorbitant rates by giving the excuse that vehicle belongs to Reasi district and same is the case with Jandrah, Manwal, Katra, Reasi and other areas people.
Wazir asked authorities for taking immediate action against the concerned including lodging of FIRs against them otherwise the situation will take serious turn due to their this type of functioning. |
