Priya chairs ABPSSP meet | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 25 : Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP) today organised its annual managing committee meeting at Bal Niketan Hall, Ved Mandir in Amphalla. Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi was the chief guest while Lt Gen L P Sadotra PVSM, AVSM (Retd.) formerly Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, was the guest of Honour on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the contributions of Army and their families towards the nation. She assured that their demands which mainly included one rank one pension, exemption of VAT on CSD items and others would be conceded at appropriate forum. The meeting was attending by over 100 veterans drawn from all ranks of the Army, Navy and the Indian Air Force. ABPSSP is a registered body of ex-servicemen with its presence in almost all the States of the country and engages itself in activities which are in the national interest of the society and that of ex-servicemen and war widows. The two days programme included in its agenda, discussion on the security challenges facing the country with special reference to the situation prevailing in J&K plans for adoption of certain villages of our martyrs in various States were also discussed. These villages will be recommended for development with the assistant of local civil authorities on the lines of models villages. A number of issues pertaining to the welfare of Ex-servicemen and war widows also came up for discussion. The meeting was presided over by all India President of ABPSSP, Lt Gen V, PVSM, AVSM (Retd) Indresh. Other dignitaries who attending the meeting included AVM H. P Singh AVM R K Dikshit, Major General N N Gupta Major General Duttsa, Brig. S C Saveen and Brig Suchet Singh. |
