VHP, BD supported, joined Jammu bandh on instance of senior RSS leader | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 25: To neutralize the growing opposition for shifting of All India Institute of Medical Sciences from Jammu region to Kashmir Valley, some frontal organizations of Sangh Parivar VHP and Bajrang Dal also supported the Jammu bandh call given by Chamber of Commerce and other non BJP organizations yesterday. According to high placed sources a senior leader of Sangh who is camping in Jammu for last four days soon after his arrival convened a meeting of all the organizations associated with Sangh and gave them instructions to join the bandh to give an impression to the people of Jammu region that the Sangh is fully backing their demands and wants that the regional discrimination with Jammu should end once for all. The senior RSS leader called the activists of Sangh Parivar and gave them directives to join and support the bandh actively so that the people of region should not get impression that the Sangh Parivar has compromised on its principles and pro-Jammu attitude. It was only after the directions from senior RSS leader who rushed to Winter Capital from new Delhi to take the stock of the political developments here after joining of coalition by BJP that the VHP and BD declared their open support to Jammu bandh and joined it. The RSS leader according to sources had informed the Sang Parivar activists that joining of government was a compulsion for BJP but this does not mean that it will compromise on the rights of the people of Jammu region, unity and integrity of country and State. He said the Sangh Parivar will continue its struggle to end the regional discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh regions but at the same time it was compelled to join the coalition otherwise some forces inimical to the Jammu region would have succeeded in forging an alliance to play with the cause of Jammu region. The Sangh leader asked the leaders of the Parivar that they should not mix the joining of BJP in government and struggle for setting up of separate AIIMS in Jammu with it. The two are separate issues and people should continue their struggle for their justified rights to which Sangh will fully back. He said Sangh has not changed its policy towards the nationalistic people of the State and it will continue to champion their cause. He while justifying joining of BJP in Government said if the Party would have done otherwise the Jammu should have been ignored in governance. |
