Police held drug peddler, recover charas, intoxicants | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, May 5:Rajouri police have arrested a drug peddler during a special naka which was laid at village Palam on Rajouri-Budhal road following surveillance of suspicious activities of the accused. The accused has been identified Mohd Majid, son of Mohd Latief, a resident of Dhanore Loharan under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station.Police has recovered 6 corns filled with Charas and 270 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the accused when intercepted at Palam on Rajouri-Budhal road by a special police team headed by Iftikar Ahmed, Deputy SP (Ops)."During initial questioning of the accused it was established that the accused use to sell the drug consignments to the tea stall owners/shopkeepers operating in the vicinity of BGSB University and use of drugs by university students can't be ruled out" said SSP, Dr Haseeb Mughal after whose directions special police naka was laid.He added more arrests and recovery of drugs can't be ruled out after the sustained interrogation of the accused Mohd Majid. Police have started further investigation to unearth the modus operandi of the drug traffickers and the locals and non-locals involved in this network. Police have booked accused in FIR case No226/15 under sections 8/20/21/22/ NDPS Act. |
