| Entry tax by Amarnath pilgrims | | Dy CM promises relaxation | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, May 5: DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh today reviewed the working of Toll plaza Lakhanpur, Gateway to Jammu and Kashmir where he promised to discuss the relaxation in entry fee for all devotees of Amarnath Yatra.
While assuring favorable measures for devotees who come to J&K every year to pay obeisance at Amarnath cave had to pay huge tax as entry fee at gateway of J&K. They paid taxes for installation of free community kitchens at different venues on the way to cave. Dr Nirmal Singh DyCM took the matter seriously and ensured the commuters to discuss the matter in cabinet meeting and favorable step will be taken in this regard.
DyCM expressed concern over unnecessary traffic jams on both the sides of Toll plaza and especially on Flyover at Lakhanpur which would create several problems for commuters. He also assured to find out permanent respite from frequent traffic jams at Lakhanpur that add sufferings for tourists and visitors.
DyCM said new government will channelize the loopholes in working of different public departments especially Excise department to give smooth and transparent working at gateway of J&K.
