BJP national president unhappy over JK Govt functioning | Likely to call meeting of PDP-BJP leaders | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 5: The BJP president is likely to call a meeting of the senior leadership of the BJP and PDP to review the functioning of the government and also to sort out the differences which had cropped up hitting the image of the first ever BJP government in the sensitive Jammu and Kashmir. "Amit Shah is not very happy with the developments. He is also not happy on account of the fact that the change of governance promised during electioneering is not visible on the ground. And, this is a major worrying factor," said a senior BJP leader wishing not to be named. The BJP had taken a great political 'risk' by forming an alliance with the PDP, which has diametrically different ideological position. The party had taken the 'risk' to make inroads in the governance by promising clean and efficient governance. "the perception matter first most in the politics and if the positive perception doesn't go around in the formative period of the governance then opposition has all the things in its hand to hit out at the government and we can't afford it in the J&K, " said the senior BJP leader. The BJP minister, though tasked with the effective administration, are not feeling free and also have to take many decision in consultation with the PDP, which is more sensitive to the Kashmir than the Jammu or India. The other worrying factor is the recent spurt in anti-national activities in the J&K. The BJP feels that it could dent it image in the country more so in ahead of the crucial elections in the Bihar and UP. "PM Modi has an image of tough task master and ultra-nationalist. The waiving of Pakistan flags in the government in which BJP is a partner can hit his image which he has built very carefully, so these things have to be stopped and to ensure that these are not repeated again, this is also an important issue to be discussed in the meeting," said the BSF official. |
