Early Times Report

Jammu, May 15: The management of a school in Srinagar today alleged that the PDP-BJP government was destroying the minority institution by denying permission to carry out repair of its building damaged in the last year's flood, a charge denied by the administration.
"Despite the court orders the government has denied us the permission to carry out repair work in the school, which had suffered damage after the last year's floods," a statement from DAV School management said.
DAV school is a minority Kashmir Pandit educational institute located in posh Jawahir Nagar area in the heart of Srinagar city.
The management, according to the statement, said that the high court had directed the government to grant permission to the school management to carry out the repair and renovation of the property.
"The permission is being deliberately denied by the agencies of the government. The management is convinced that the present dispensation of PDP-BJP is hell bent upon to destroy this minority institution," it said.
The management also alleged that BJP-PDP government were making efforts to grab the posh land of the institution belonging to minorities by denying permission and harassing the school management by Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).
They alleged that the school management has knocked the doors of BJP and PDP minsters including Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh, J-K Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, J-K Education Minister Naeem Akhtar but nothing has been done to grant us permission to repair the buildings. "This is fate of KPs during BJP rule at the State and Central level. The Centre and the State governments claim to take back KPs to valley and settle there," one of Trustees, T K Ganjoo said.
"Is this the confidence building measure that these government are taking by harassing minority KPs and eyeing on their minority institute and properties," he said.
A Srinagar Municipal Corporation official, when contacted, denied any wrongdoing on part of the government and the administration, saying there was a dispute over the school's land and the matter was subjudice.
