Srinagar, May 15 : The Directorate of Students Welfare, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today organised a debate competition on the theme "Family Disintegration and Development Go Together" to observe the United Nations International Day of Families. The event, which was held at Magarmal academic block of the University, was inaugurated by the officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj udDin, while as Department of Urdu Coordinator, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Malik, Director Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka and Cultural Coordinator, Dr. Ihsan Malik were among other faculty members present on the occasion. Prof. Mehraj udDin expressed grave concern over the nuclearisation of the families, particularly in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. "The nuclear families have more disadvantages than advantages," Prof. Mehraj udDin remarked adding that several behavioral problems prevalent among the children at present are due to the breaking away of the families. |
