Bhalla alleges coalition Govt callous & thoughtless to people's grievances | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 4: Accusing the State government for adopting an indifferent attitude towards the people's grievances and rubbishing govt's claims of success on various fronts, former Minister and Senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla said that traders have been suffering tremendous losses due to erratic power supply for the past two and a half months. While addressing a deputation of Preet Nagar of Gandhi Nagar constituency, former Minister said that several Jammu based business houses are suffering in isolation and counting huge losses since the Kashmir valley, hit by the 'cycle of violence' in the wake of killing of terrorist Burhan Wani. Uncertain future and fading hopes of business prospects getting revived is giving sleepless nights to the traders operating from Jammu. Barring a few prominent businessmen, large section of small traders is in deep crisis and eagerly awaiting restoration of peace and normalcy in the Kashmir valley. Bhalla slamming the public representatives especially from Jammu, said that despite getting massive mandate are yet to utter a word or two on the quantum of losses incurred by the traders from Jammu region and what steps they are going to take to mitigate their sufferings. "Both Jammu and Kashmir regions are interlinked commercially to maintain the crucial supply chain but ever since Kashmir has been witnessing 'mindless violence' across different district quarters the traders from Jammu, based in Nehru Market Ware House are left with no other option but to count mounting losses", Bhalla maintained. The transporters community is the worst hit. Both big transporters as well as small time operators whose livelihood depends heavily on ferrying tourists, pilgrim tourists and common masses from Jammu too during the summer months to Kashmir Valley have faced huge losses in the past over two weeks. Though this goes same for their counterparts in Kashmir, but those from Jammu are suffering for none of their faults in the political turmoil being dragged by the vested interests in Kashmir. Amid reports of shortage of medicines and essential commodities in Jammu region, Bhalla asked the government to review the conditions of patients in hospitals and ensure that the common man did not suffer for basic anenities. He maintained that nothing will be fetched by giving fake assurances and changing roadmaps unless and until government takes needful steps for public welfare. He said the result of government's development schemes are no where visible on the ground. He underlined the need for carrying forward the comprehensive development plan launched by Congress led government to achieve the desired results of inclusive and holistic development. |
