8/4/2016 10:32:07 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 4: Pilgrims, who were stranded at Baltal base camp after paying obeisance at the holy cave shrine for security reasons, have left for Jammu under unprecedented security arrangements early this morning.
Similarly, pilgirms who were stopped on other side of the Jawahar tunnel following massive protests at several places in south Kashmir on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway since August 2 evening following death of a youth in security force firing, have also reached Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps safely late last night.
All pilgrims who had returned at Baltal after paying obeisance at the cave shrine were stopped for security reasons following protests at several places on the highway and strike in Banihal, official sources said.
However, vehicles carrying pilgrims left the base camp early this morning for Jammu under tight security arrangements.
Similarly pilgrims who were stopped on other side of the Jawahar tunnel on August 2 following massive protests on the highway in south Kashmir were also allowed to proceed towards the Kashmir valley late last night.
Pilgrims have reached Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps safely and some of them have started their foot journey towards the cave shrine today.
Since July 9, a day after Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag district, evoking massive protests across the valley, all vehicles carrying pilgrims will ply during the night to avoid any demonstrations.
