'Sale' of state land at Gharota by revenue officials | SVC asks VO to expedite probe | | Early Times Report
jammu, Aug 4: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has directed vigilance organisation (VO) to complete probe into the sale of state land at Gharota near here allegedly by some revenue officials. The SVC directive came in the VO investigation report in FIR No 23 registered with it on November 30, 2012. SVC directed VO to complete the remaining part of the investigation so that departmental and legal action was initiated against the revenue officials and others involved in the scam, official sources said. "The investigation report has prima facie established involvement of patwaries, girdawars and naib- tehsildars, who by misusing their official position issued the fards of land (Shamilati Deh) fraudulently in favour of some persons," sources alleged. The involved revenue officials were also alleged to have facilitated the illegal sale of community land (Muffad-e-Aam), measuring about nine kanals at Gharota. After having a threadbare discussion of the case in a meeting, held under the chairmanship of chief vigilance commissioner, SVC instructed the VO director to ensure that investigation of the case was completed early so that the guilty were booked under law. |
