Distinguished lecture organized at MIET | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: A distinguished lecture was organized at the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu where in Professor SS Pathak, an eminent professor from IIT Kharagpur was the resource person. Prof. Pathak has experienced of over 33 years in academics and has been visiting professor at various universities in USA for a couple of years. In the welcome address, Maj Gen SK Sharma, AVSM, Director Academics MIET informed the student audience about the credentials of Prof Pathak who has over 100 research papers to his credit at the various international and national levels. Prof Pathak spoke at length on the need for multi-disciplinary projects to be undertaken by the engineering students. He amplified that most of the electrical systems are open-loop whereas electronics deals with the close loop system except for the antenna system which is open loop. Computer coding is needed for all the projects. students must spend time to understand the basic principles of engineering and then go in for projects aimed at solving societal problems. He also spoke on the qualities needed by the students of engineering colleges to be at par with IITians or students of developed countries. Self imposed discipline while undergoing studies is the key to rise higher in life. |
