Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 23: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the students of Jammu University in big numbers took out a protest march in the university premises starting from the Math department to the Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium where the programme of MOS education Priya Sethi was scheduled.
Following the UIET agitation from past 20 days when the students got a notification from the government that they are no more part of Jammu University in which they took admission around 7 months ago. The students of UIET along with the volunteers of ABVP have placed their chain hunger strike outside the vice chancellor secretariat from past 8 days. The students while taking out the protest demonstration raised slogans against the government for ignoring them from past 20 days and no elected representatives have arrived on the dharna to inspect about the condition of the students.
As the programme was going on in the Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium of SHTM department in which Priya Sethi (MOS Education) was the chief guest. Parents of UIET students were also assembled at the point where protest demonstration was stopped. Students raised slogans that the minister should come out to address the cause of students and a call of opportunity was given to the minister to address the students and their parents. As soon as the minister came out the parent association showed their anger towards the minister as to how this autonomy of Jammu University was compromised in the time of BJP and such an attempt was made, she cleared that she has heard the matter already.
