SAMBA, Feb 25: A pall of gloom descended on village Mandi Garh near Gurha Salathia in Tehsil Vijaypur of district Samba soon after the news of SGCt Kultar Singh's martyrdom reached here.
The deceased SGCt of JKAP's 13 Bn Kultar Singh, son of Jeevan Singh, was a resident of Mandi Garh, Gurha Salathia.
Martyr Singh was injured critically after militants fired upon him outside the historic Charar-e-Sharif shrine in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Sunday afternoon.
Constable Singh was posted at the guard post of the shrine and succumbed to his injuries later.
He is survived by his wife Rani Slathia and two children Harshit and Akshit, 4 and 3 years old respectively.
"Little did we know that this catastrophe is going to happen," an inconsolable Rani Slathia said. |
