Natrang stages play "Society Cool, Man Fool" | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 25: Natrang presented a new devised play "Society Cool, Man Fool" which was collectively devised by 30 new actors of Natrang's one week workshop. The play was designed and directed By Aarushi Thakur Rana, who is a UK based Indian origin actor and director. This new play is a reflection of today's society and the evils surrounding us. Every time the issue of Women Rights is raised, there is an essence of portraying women as a victim and as someone who is weak and not strong enough to stand against the society. Its high time we show women in a positive light and courageous enough to stand for her own rights. This play highlights such issues like why a liberal and modern girl is judged by the society for the clothes she wears and the people she speaks to. This play also raises another major issue where men are judged by the society for not being masculine enough. Just like women are judged for not being lady-like, the men also fall prey to the stereotypes. The participants include Meenakshi Bhagat, Ashley Mehta, Gauri Thakur, Aarti Devi, Shivam Singh, Abhee Bargotra, Brijesh Avtar Sharma and others. The lights of the play were executed by Gautam Kumar whereas Bhisham Gupta rendered the music. The show was coordinated by Neeraj Kant. |
