NMC demands removal of pay anomalies among lower staff

JAMMU, Feb 25: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) appealed Prime Minister to immediately accept the recommendations of the committee headed by Ashok Lavasa to remove pay anomalies of the lower staff working in the central and state governments so that uncertainty among them could end.
President NMC Subash Shastri said," The Prime Minister should immediately accept the recommendations of the committee to remove pay anomalies of lower staff working in both Centre/State governments services, so that confusion and uncertainty among this categories employees and pensioners could come to an end," Shastri said this while addressing a largely attended NMC workers meet here.
He pointed out that the committee headed by Union Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa has already submitted its report to Union Finance Minister months ago in which the committee has recommend the minimum salary of the lower staff from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21000 per month. Shastri hoped that central government will accept the recommendations of the committee and decision in this regard will be taken in the next meeting of union cabinet.
Pleading for the cause of daily rated workers in various departments of the state government, Shastri reiterated his demand for payment of minimum wages at the rate of Rs 350 per day.
