On spot floral painting, drawing competition organized

Jammu, Feb 25: As a pre-cursor event of National Workshop -cum- Exhibition of Kissan Mela, Entrepreneurship Programme and Flower Show, 2018 under CSIR-Aroma mission programe, CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu organized 'On-the-spot Floral Painting/ Drawing Competition' at Regional Research Laboratory High School campus here today. This programme was organized under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Ram Vishwakarma, Director CSIR-IIIM, Jammu and Er. Rajneesh Anand, Chief Scientist & Secretary.
About 456 children from 51 different schools and individuals from civil society of Jammu region of J&K participated in the event. The joy and excitement of children was evident on their faces and their eyes were filled with anticipation. This Floral Painting/Drawing Competition is a part of the forthcoming National Workshop -cum- Exhibition of Kissan Mela, Entrepreneurship Programme and Flower Show, 2018 'which will be organized on March 09, 2018 at CSIR-IIIM Filed Station , Chatha.
This event was categorized in three age groups viz. Group I (5-8 years), Group II (9-12 years) and Group III (13-16 years). Children of Group I were given to select any flower for painting whileas the Group II and Group III were given Pansy and Nasturtium flowers for painting respectively. Three participants of each group will be chosen for first, second & third prizes.
