Jammu, Mar 19: Department of Botany, GDC Akhnoor celebrated Forestry Day by organizing a guest lecture on Biodiversity.
Dr. KC Bhagat Retd. Prof from SKUAST Kashmir was the resource person on the occasion who explained about the origin of universe, origin of life and biodiversity of micro organisms, plants and animals, the importance of Biodiversity, Agriculture Crops and Nutritional crisis.
He also suggested the students to make clubs and study the biodiversity of the area. Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Principal GDC, Akhnoor also spoke on the occasion regarding the importance of water bodies for the production of food crops in the area. Prof. Meenakshi Sharma, Prof. Mamta Sharma, Prof. Manmeet Kour, Prof. Ganesh Kumar were also present on the occasion. |
