| GDC Udhampur organises 20-twenty cricket match | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 12: An exhibition 20-twenty cricket match was played between Principal XI and students XI at Govt. Degree College Udhampur today in which students XI outplayed Principal's XI team.
Sunil Kumar, a national level player of Students XI team was adjudged the man of the match for his unbeaten 55 runs and 02 wickets. Principal of the College Dr. S.K. Magotra and Sunil Kumar Captained the Principal XI and Students XI team respectively.
Earlier Principal XI won the toss and chose to bat first and put total of 105 runs on the scoreboard thereby setting a target of 106 runs for students XI to win the match. Prof. Rakesh Sharma remained highest scorer with 25 runs while Prof. Jawaid Sarver and Prof. Suresh Kr. Dogra contributed 18 and 12 runs respectively for Principal XI.
Sunil, Abineet and Madhav Vardaan claimed two wickets each. In reply Students XI easily chased the target in 14.5 over with 06 wickets remaining in hand Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, Prof. Hans Raj and Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra 01 wicket each for Principal XI. Principal of the College Prof. Magotra appreciated the cricketing spirit of both the teams and said such kind of sports activity are very helpful in releasing stress and adding to the Physical fitness.
Prof. Magotra assured the players that College Cricket pitch shall be improved and upgraded soon and for such activities college administration shall extend full financial support. Cricketing activity ended with serving light refreshment to the players by the Principal. |
