| Carmel Convent School celebrates "World Heritage Day" | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 18: Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School celebrated the "World Heritage Day". This day is also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. The motive of this day is to raise awareness about the importance of conserving sites of outstanding cultural and natural significance to the common heritage of humanity.
A special prayer service was organized by the students of Standard 6th highlighting the need to conserve and protect our heritage sites. Some important historical sites of India were exhibited in the shape of models. The students dressed up in traditional outfits depicted the culture of different states in the form of dance and drama. Jasleen Randhawa of class 6th enlightened the gathering with a motivational speech on the preservation and importance of Indian heritage and culture. The school Principal Sr. Swati motivated the students to be rooted to their culture as it is a part of one's identity. She also requested them to visit any cultural heritage site in Jammu and appreciate the same as they are our connection to the history. |
