Mega Kabaddi event to begin on April 23

Jammu, Apr 18: The five day long Mega Kabaddi event to begin on April 23, it was announced by Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association.
Addressing media persons, the Ashok Koul General Secretary of BJP and Chief Guest of T-20 Dr. Hedgewar Junior Kabaddi Gold Cup 2018 in the presence of Anil Gupta President, Anil Padha, B.S. Tirthi, Dinesh Gupta, Anil Modi, Karunesh Gupta and Kuldeep Gupta of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association informed about the event.
Koul said the Mega Event will start from 23rd to 27th April 2018 at Kabaddi Field, M.A. Stadium, Jammu. Total 100 teams in boys and girls section will be participating in the Gold Cup. The eligibility criteria for Junior Boys Category is - age below 19 years and weight below 60 kgs and Junior Girls Category is age below 19 years and weight below 55 kgs.
The age and weight certificate must be certified by the Principal of the institution with seal and signature. All the matches will be played in day light in morning and evening session. All the participants will get participation certificate and I-Card from the organizing committee.
All the matches will be played in league cum knockout system. Sixteen pools will be formulated and 6 to 7 teams will be in single pool. Mr. Anil Gupta President of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association told that toss for each match of knockout will be done by silver coin and team which wins the toss will get that silver coin. Thewinner and runner-up team in each match from knockout i.e. Pre-Quarter final, Quarter final, Semi final and Final will get cash prizes on spot.
The best player of the Gold Cup 2018 in Boys and Girls Section will get a "Gold chain". The Third place teams, Runner-up and Winner team in Boys and Girls section will get Cash Prizes, Merit Certificates, Medals and Trophies. This is first kind of Mega Event in our state which every Kabaddi Player is anxious to watch. All the matches will be officiated by the PEM/PET of Youth Services & Sports Department, NIS Coaches and Senior Players of J&K Police Team and other Senior players also.
