BJP's conflicting statements in Rassana case intriguing: Harsh | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 18: Highly critical or the contradictory and incongruous stands taken by various BJP leaders over the Rassana case, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today said that the Saffron party stood fully exposed for its dual standards and double dealing in its desperation to cling on to power. He said that all such conflicting statements were being made by different BJP leaders to suit their political convenience and to hoodwink people as part of larger political strategy. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today. Referring to the statement made by Union MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendar Singh over the issue, Singh said that the union BJP Minister had categorically stated in media yesterday during a function in Medical College that Centre had no objection to CBI probe in case the state Govt. came out with a reference. His statement however ran counter to the April 13 statement of Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh who had unambiguously stated that BJP was satisfied with the investigation in Rassana case by crime branch and that "those not satisfied with crime branch could go anywhere they liked". The sacked Minister Ch. Lal Singh who was still a BJP MLA was however seen holding public rallies rejecting the crime branch probe into the matter, Harsh pointed out. With dichotomous positioning over the issue, the BJP had rendered itself an object of Jeers and shown itself as a party having no consistency or a coherent approach. He said that it had revealed itself as a party where individual interests were given preference and that anybody could make any statement consistent with his own personal interests. |
