'Vested interests leveling baseless allegations against Technical Education Deptt' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 21: An official of the Technical Education department on Saturday said that a few people with vested interests are trying to sabotage the purchases made by the department in a transparent manner by leveling baseless allegations. "Director Technical Education Shabnum Shah Kamili after conducting an internal inquiry about the complaints in presence of SLPC members found that the allegations fake, baseless and bigoted," an official said. He said that such allegations are either to harass the SLPC members or to sabotage the transparent mechanism of e-tendering there by diverting our attention to revert the department back to old and obsolete manual system of tendering.vThe directorate of technical education makes purchases every year through a very transparent mechanism (e-tendering) to meet the requirements of the subordinate offices of all ITIS and Polytechnics across J&K. The purchases through e-tendering has been introduced in the directorate of technical education since last two years after the requirements are consolidated from the subordinate offices and are tendered out by sate level purchase committee which has been constituted by administrative department to look into every aspect of purchases," the official added. "Final agreements are made on the basis of procedure followed and financial evaluation which is automatically calculated by the software dealing with the process of e-tendering. The process has been adopted as per the circular /instructions issued by the finance department and the suggestions made by the vigilance organisations from time to time to rule out any malafide to any blue eyed person or the one who does not qualify in the entire process of bidding," the official added.v "Complaints about the procurement of machinery equipments under heritage craft courses which were in progress since last two years and the procurement of machinery equipments under CSS for eighteen new polytechnic colleges whose supply orders have yet not been issued are doing rounds on bogus identities in directorate and in our other higher offices," he said.
