Jammu, Apr 22: A free medical camp was organized in the premises of the Parshuram Sabha to make people aware about heart ailments and the precautions required for keeping them away. Dr Sushil Sharma, Head, Department of Cardiology, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu, along with a team of doctors, paramedics and volunteers, participated it. More than 160 people turned up in the camp who were screened, evaluated, diagnosed and were also given free medicines as per the requirement. Dr Sushil stressed upon the need to place health at the centre of urban planning and policy making to reverse the epidemic of chronic diseases. Dr Sushil maintained that recent studies are indicative of the fact that most of the top ten causes of death directly or indirectly are influenced by faulty urban design and planning policies. Addressing on the occasion President of the DBPS Ved Parkash Sharma expressed gratitude to the Doctors particularly Dr. Sushil Sharma for their selfless service of humanity. DBPS also honored Dr. Sushil Sharma on this occasion. |
