JAMMU, Apr 27: The exuberance of Spring Festival was spread in the ambience of MIER when Model Academy hosted the Inter School Group Song competition in H L Gupta Auditorium. The programme was organized to promote the Prime Minister's initiative of "Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat" which aims to showcase the rich heritage, culture, customs and traditions of India, for enabling people to understand and appreciate diversity of our country, thus foresting a sense of common identity. On the occasion, Anjali Sharma, Station Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu was the chief guest while Dr Renu Gupta, vice chairperson MIER was the guest of honour and Dr Adit Gupta Director MIER was the special guest. The competition witnessed an extensive array of participation from nine top leading schools of Jammu. The panel of judges adjudicating the competition was Dr Deepali Wattal, renowned singer and lecturer music and fine arts Jammu University and Surpal Jaswal, noted singer, music instructor and coach to various music based reality shows in Mumbai. The judgment was done on the basis of swar, taal, co-ordination and presentation. Speaking on the occasion, Anjali Sharma said that she was pleased to listen to some of the most talented voices. She further stressed that "Ek Bharat, Shreshta Bharat" is a string to weave the entire country into a necklace and develop respect for all regions irrespective of caste, creed and religion. |
