Rajouri, Apr 29: Taking forward road safety awareness campaign initiated by the District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on 29th Road Safety Week, the Motor Vehicle Department today organised a motor cycle rally to promote use of helmet and other safety gears by two wheeler riders.
The rally was flagged off from new bus stand by DySP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch Mohd Rafiq in presence of MVD Inspectors Ranjeev Bhasin, Aslam Parvez and officials of traffic police.
A large number of volunteers, students and members of Press Club Rajouri participated in the rally. The rally passed through main areas of the town including Jawahar Nagar, Gujjar Mandi, Kheora and ITI and culminated back at new bus stand.
The objective of the rally was to aware and motivate the commuters for using helmets and other safety gears, discourage over speeding and rash driving by the motor cyclists. |
