Mendhar, Apr 29: Risking the lives, the Power Development Department (PDD) has fixed electric wires on trees rather than electric poles in Dhargloon area of Sub-divsion Mendhar in Poonch district. Residents of Palyan Dhargloon said that at many places high and low voltage electric wires are hanging on the trees pose a threat to the residents, "It shows the callous attitude of the power development department (PDD) on the ground. They said most of the wooden poles installed in the area decades ago were damaged and instead of installing new cement or iron poles, PDD officials choose to hang wires on trees. Chairman Balakote Development Commmitte Nazir Ahmed Khan said that they approached PDD officials many times to install iron or cement poles in the area, but they don't pay any heed to our demands, he said, " We regularly pay electric tariff bills, but PDD is not adhering to government announced power schedule in the area. |
