Ramban, Apr 29: The State Football Academy (SFA) of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) launched one more District Football Unit under Mission-22 in District Ramban on Sunday at Government Higher Secondary School Banihal. On the occasion, District Commissioner Ramban, Tariq Ahmad Ganie was the Chief Guest while as Superintendent of Police Ramban, Vinay Kumar was the Guest of Honour. With the launch of this unit, SFA Ramban will likely compete in SFA Inter Academy Football League 2017-18 and is pooled in Srinagar Cluster. Earlier, on Saturday SFA conducted selection trials for the football aspirants of Ramban district under Mission-22 to select probables for the SFA district football unit Ramban. Almost 120 football aspirants from various villages of Ramban besides from other far away areas took part in trials, out of which 60 players under three age groups 13, 15, and 18 respectively were selected on various parameters. Moreover, the selected players will go under thorough training to compete in SFA Inter Academy Football League likely to be held at Srinagar. The players will be trained as per the curriculum and philosophy set by SFA under local coach, Farooq Ahmad. |
