| Drug peddler held with charas | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 29: Banihal police today claimed to have arrested a pedestrain and recovered 400 grams charas from his possession. Police spokesman said that today on specific information a special naka was raised at T Chowk Banihal. "During checking one pedestrian was asked to stop but he tried to flee and was overpowered and during frisking 16 challies of charas weighing 400 gram was recovered from his possession", said spokesman adding that the challies were wrapped in newspaper and polythene. Police spokesman further said that the pedestrian was identified as Muzaffar Ahmad of Gupthal Dooligaam. Police spokesman added that on further investigation the drug peddler revealed that he has brought the consignment from Anantnag and was meant to be distributed to the locals of the area. A case under FIR no 59/18 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation is in progress while more arrests and recoveries are likely. |
