Suspended cop among three held with heroin | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 14: In continuation to the ongoing 'Operation Sanjeevani', a special drive against drug menace, three drug peddlers, including a suspended constable, have been arrested by Bakshi Nagar police and recovered six grams of heroin from their possession. Police identified the arrested drug peddlers as Arvind Kapoor alias Bablu of Hari Singh Nagar Rehari, Kulbir Singh alias Kannu of Rehari Colony and Arun Jamwal of Jagti Nagrota presently staying at Paloura. Sources said that Arvind who is constable in Jammu and Kashmir Police and presently under suspension was earlier arrested along with heroin and was placed under suspension. A police spokesman said that the trio was arrested along with his Honda City Car bearing registration number JK02R-5200 by a special team lead by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma, SI Rahul Dogra and others. "During a special naka raised at Hari Singh Nagar Rehari, the said car was intercepted and was stopped for checking", said spokesman adding that the search of the car was conducted and on search of the car Heroin weighing six grams was recovered. A case under FIR No. 65/2018 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation of the case entrusted to SI Jatinder Singh in-charge police post Sarwal Jammu. The whole nexus of drug peddlers is being looked into and more arrests are likely to be made. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Pranav Mahajan SDPO City West Jammu and SP City North Dr. Vinod Kumar and the overall supervision of Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu. |
