Kundra, Risyalan, Dera, Kanjli locals hold protest, demand upgradation of GHS | | | Early Times Report
REASI, May 20: People of four Panchayats including Bhabbar Brahmna (Kundra), Risyalan, Dera and Kanjli protested against the government for not listening to their genuine demand regarding the upgradation of school. Government High School (GHS) Kundra established in 1984 is awaiting its upgradation for the last 34 years in spite of the peoples' step-by-step approach to the highest level including Governor of the state and Prime Minister of India. People of four Panchayats including Bhabbar Brahmna (Kundra), Risyalan, Dera and Kanjli whose wards are dependent on Government High School Kundra for education, have already appealed to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, Education Minister, and MoS Finance and MLA Reasi Ajay Nanda to look into the genuine demand of the public and oblige them with the upgradation of GHS Kundra to Government Higher Secondary School. In April, 2018 during the visit of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti assured that long pending demand of the people of the four panchayats to be soughed out very soon but unfortunately nothing has taken place till now. Sarpanch of Bhabbar Bodh Raj said that the children of four panchayats after clearing matriculation have to seek admission at Reasi after covering a long distance of 50 to 60 kms (Up/down) which wastes their sufficient amount of time. The representatives of these Panchayats regretted that their elected representatives visit their Panchayats only during election period due to the reasons that these are situated in odd area which is not on the main road. They said that their grievances always remain underdressed. They appealed to the MoS Ajay Nanda and the District Development Commissioner to listen to the sufferings of the people. |
