| Drug peddler held, over 1 kg charas recovered | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 20: In continuation to the operation 'Sanjeevni', launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Vivek Gupta, Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered over 1 kg charas from his possession.
Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar police station established a naka at Valmiki Chowk Gandhi Nagar for checking/ frisking of vehicles.
"When the police party was checking/frisking the vehicles one Maruti Car bearing Registration number JKO2Q/2754 coming from Bahu Plaza towards Green Belt Gandhi Nagar was also stopped for checking and on checking 70 pieces of Charas weighing 1.200 Kgs were recovered from the possession of the driver of the car", said spokesman adding that during questioning he disclosed his name as Sohan Lal of dabhditta Jhiri, Marh Jammu.
Accordingly a case under FIR No. 117/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and further investigation was started.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by ASI Shesh Pal under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Manhas, SP City South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta. |
