Early Times Report Jammu, May 20: Expressing concern of lackadaisical approach of the State govt. on resolving the issue of reservation in promotion, the socio-religious, retired SC/ST/OBC employees, women, youth & students and employees wings of Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA), in a largely attended general body daylong session at Guru Ravi Dass Gurudhwara Hall, Bahu Fort, reminded Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of her promises made on various occasions to restore the reservation in promotion which was struck down by the division bench of Hon'ble J&K High Court. Reiterating the demand of restoration of reservation in promotion for the employees of various reserved categories, the participants urged the Chief Minister for immediate solution over the issue of reservation in promotion which she had also promised to the delegation of SC/ST communities met her in January 15, 2018 under the leadership of Bhushan Dogra, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for the development of Scheduled Castes. Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, President of JKRCEA, while speaking on the occasion said that various delegations of JKRCEA have also met Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti at different times and appealed for early solution of otherwise terribly misinterpreted issue, the Chief Minister herself assured restoration of reservation in promotion and even issued on spot instructions to the concerned authorities for taking necessary step to do so. But unfortunately, so far, no action has been seen from the govt. towards restoration of reservation in promotion which adversely affects the employees of SC, ST, RBA, ALC and other reserved categories, lamented Dr. Bhasin. Bodh Raj Bhagat, Sr. Vice President, All India Bhagat Maha Sabha, Prof GL Thappa, President SC/ST retired employees forum, Sham Lal Basson, Mohinder Bhagat, MR Bangotra, Roshan Din Choudhary, R.C. Bhasin, Pawan Bhagat, Prof. Kali Dass, Nighat Shafeeq and Manoj Kumar representing various wings of JKRCEA also spoke on the occasion. Brij Rana, organizing secretary conducted the proceeding whileas Joginder Paul, Treasurer, JKRCEA presented formal vote of thanks. |
