People rue closure of PS Watna due to non availability of teacher | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, May 24: The of Watna village in Inderwal constituency of District Kishtwar today rued the closure of local Primary School Watna due to non availability of the teacher and called upon the Chief Education Officer Kishtwar to arrange 2nd teacher for the school so that 40 students enrolled in this school could not suffer due to non availability of the Teacher. Speaking to Early Times, the local people said that the only teacher posted in the school could not reach the school due to some official assignment as a result of which the school remain close. They said that the Watna and adjoining areas like Gunmarh have only one Primary School with student strength of 40. They said that despite repeated request, the government fails to appoint 2nd teacher in the school added that as and when the said teacher remain on leave or on any official assignment, the school remains close resulted into unnecessary suffering to the students. When contacted Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Javed Ahmed Kichloo said that the teacher has been sent for training under PARVAAZ (Activity Based Training for Primary School Teachers) as a part of government policy under which each teacher had to go though this training course under which a group of 140 teachers has been made on alternative bases. He said that concern officials of Inderwal Zone has been directed to make the alternative arrangements. He assured that tomorrow the school will get the teacher under alternative arrangements. |
