Police usually ignore common man if someone abuses him on social media'

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24: Jammu and Kashmir Police have been hunting for Rajinder Singh, brother of the former minister Chaudary Lal Singh, in connection with the case registered against him for using derogatory language against the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Rajinder Singh's utterances against the woman Chief Minister of the state have drawn flak and everyone has taken a strong note of it. Everyone is of the opinion that he should not have used such a language. "Since the day FIR has been registered against Rajinder Singh alias Bubby Jammu and Kashmir Police have become active and are leaving no stone unturned to locate him," said an analyst.
He said, "If anyone abuses a common man on What's Up groups or any other social networking sites Police even don't take the cognizance, registering an FIR is out of question."
"If anyone approaches Police with a complaint about him being abused in the public forum Policemen conveniently say it's no case. The just ignore it. What an irony!" he added.
The analyst said, "It has been observed that whenever any VIP complains or lodges a FIR Police become active and go out of way to appease the VIP but when a common man approaches the Police he has to run from pillar to post to get himself heard."
He said, "People watch everything and are aware about how the system works. Policemen should realize that no one wants to come to the Police Station. They do so, when they are in distress and need help. Everyone cannot be a VIP and influential. J&K Police should treat everyone equally rather than being selective in its approach."
It may be recalled that police have raided several places in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and other areas to arrest Rajinder Singh. "Five police teams led by sub-inspector and deputy superintendent-level officers have carried out the raids but have failed to locate Bubby. Residences of his business partners were also raided in Kathua," a police official said.
