| Udhampur people aghast over unscheduled power cuts | | |

Udhampur, May 24: The people here are aghast over unscheduled and unwarranted power cuts. They have accused the PDD of torturing them in scorching heat.
An PDD official said people resort to power theft to run their air conditioners which puts a lot of load on transformers thus forcing the departmdnt to go for power cuts.
After taking oath, Power Minister Sunil Sharma in a meeting with top PDD officials had assured adequate power supply but the assurance has not changed anything on ground.
The locals have urged the PDD to constitute teams to check power theft so that common people get uninterrupted power supply. |
