| Deserving left high & dry in PMRSM census | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, May 24: To provide health related benefits to under privileged people and below poverty line catagory under pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swachhta Mission (PMRSM) a census was carried out by some teachers in the year 2010-2011 in Mendhar sub-division leaving the deserving lot high and dry while govt employees were included in the list, sources said here today.
They said centrally sponsored scheme PMRSM was introduced to provide health related benefits to poor, BPL and under privileged people but the employees and APL catagoru were included in the list leaving the deserving lot in lurch for the reasons best known to them.
Demanding change of list and inclusion of deserving poor and under privileged people of sub division Mendhar into the list the locals staged a protest demonstration in front of office of the sub divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Mendhar and submitted memorandum of demands to Naib Tehsildar Tariq Hussain. He assured the protesters that he will take up the matter with SDM
Meanwhile, Mendhar youth club chairman Nadeem Rafiq Khan urged the DDC Poonch to initiate an inquiry into the previous list prepared by some teachers who ignored the deserving lot.
He further appealed to include the BPL people into the list and review the same after through survey and conduct of census in Sub divison Mendhar Khan added. |
