Stenographers Association highlights demands | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 26: The All J&K Head of Departments Stenographers Association held meetings at Jammu, Srinagar as well as in Leh and Kargil to highlight their genuine demands. Addressing gathering, chairman Mohammad Latif Qureshi raised various issues relating to career progression through cadre review, holding of timely DPCs in all the Departments outside the Secretariat on the analogy of Civil Secretariat Subordinate Services and creation of posts of Private Secretaries with all Deputy Commissioners / Directorates and other equivalent heads besides creation of posts of Senior Scale Stenographers, Junior Scale Stenographers in all the newly created administrative units and those Departments where the posts are not available and where junior posts are available but the Senior post is required to be created to provide promotional avenues to the incumbent/s working on the said posts. They urged the State Government to consider their demands for promotion, induction into KAS, postings of HoD Cadre at par with the Stenographers of Secretariat Cadre, as the work profile of both the Stenographers of Secretariat Cadre and HoD Cadre is the same. They added that it was painful to state that in respect of HoD Cadre stenographers, the promotional avenues are negligible and the issue is not being addressed by the Government despite repeated representations by the members of the Cadre. The HoD Cadre stenographer(s) are facing enduring stagnation and this has been continuing since decades now. As such the HoD Cadre stenographers are being deprived of their fundamental rights viz. timely promotion, induction. |
