Govt schools blame CEO for poor results
5/26/2018 11:26:04 PM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, May 26: More than 260 teachers who have been attached at various places due to various reasons including in the offices of the Chief Education Officer, Zonal Education Officer (ZEOs) offices have been directed to join their original places of postings within 24 hours.
Ch Lal Hussian, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri vide his office order No.CEOR/ps/2018-19/494-99 dt 25/5/2018 has directed all the Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to further issue relieving orders in favour of all such teaching staff members.
DDOs have further been directed to ensure the joining of these teachers at the original place of their postings and accordingly furnish the compliance report of each detachee to his office before Saturday positively.
Sources said the orders of such detachments were issued after verbal directions issued to all the CEOs by the higher education authorities after a meeting was chaired by the newly appointed Education Minister, Ch. Zulfikar Ali.
It's worth mentioning that during 10th class and 12th class examinations (session 2017-18) district administration on the directions from the higher education authorities had imposed section 144 and had also constituted teams to minimize the menace of copying.
This strictness had wide impact on copying and out of 34 higher secondary schools the result for 14 schools remained below 20% while out of 114 high/HSSs the result for 11 remained 0 % and for 34 schools it was below20%.
"The poor result had impact on the performance of the principals and headmasters and apprehending action (including stoppage of increments) their powerful lobby reportedly putting political pressure to save their skins and it was reported that all the blame was put on the shoulders of the CEO Rajouri for taking tough measures resulting in the poor results" said a senior education officer.
If we go through the past results of such schools, the result percentage always remained between 50-60% as the teachers were providing copying materials to the students in order to increase their subject wise results.
Efforts of new education minister to provide required teachers at every school can only produce good results if the political interference was fully stopped, transparency was maintained in the appointments of the teachers and their responsibility for good academic standard.
