| Another infiltration bid foiled in Tangdar | | 5 militants killed | |  Mohammad Sarfaraz

KUPWARA, May 26: Army claimed to have foiled another infiltration bid after killing five militants along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdar sector today.
A top army official while talking to Early Times said that, soldiers of 20 JAT posted at Eagle Post on wee hours detected movement of 6/7 infiltrators who tried to sneak into this part.
After being challenged, the infiltrators and the troopers exchanged a brief gunfight, resulting 5 infiltrators were gunned down, the official said.
The official said that a massive search operation was launched in forest areas of Tangdar sector, Keran sector Gogaldara and Shalabhuto areas.
Official sources said the searches were launched following the apprehensions. During the searches in the Encounter site, army's 5/9 GR recovered huge Quantities of ammunition including AK-47 rifles and other eatable items, the official said.
It is learnt from sources that sanitization operation was still going on in the Tangdhar Sector of North Kashmir Kupwara, till the last reports came in.
Pertinently on Friday army claimed to have foiled infiltration bid in Keran sector of this north Kashmir district. |
