Unilateral ceasefire during month RAMZAN proved futile: MPEJ | | | Jammu, May 26: Active members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice, Ram Singh Chouhan and Kuldeep Kumar Rao, in a joint statement issue here, expressing great wonder as to how the spate of attacks on security forces has increased manifold in the valley since general amnesty granted to stone pelters. This experiment of one sided amnesty has been exercised in the past also but proved in vain & a futile exercise probably at the behest of their masters across the borders they said and added that unilateral ceasefire during holy month RAMZAN has also proved futile though government may have earned international acclamation for this good humane gesture. It is quite un-explainable to forward an appeal to Jammuites to maintain peace & communal harmony, though it may sound but no appeal to stone pelters, separatist organizations, underground or ever ground workers engaged in antinational activities or the separatist leaders to respond to government of India's call for a truce at least during the holy month of Ramzan if they really have faith in Islamic preaching, the duo said. The sleeping partner with the present dispensation-the BJP has nothing to lose now because all its cherished slogans & promises made with the people in its Jammu Constituency even last 70 years have been compromised with be it (i) abrogation of Art.370 & 35-A, when it comes to power at the centre and in the state (ii) Settlement of refugees problems (iii) voting rights to refugees of 1947 & 1971 wars in their own greatest democracy of the world. |
